How to Choose Spring Colors For Mahogany Skin Tone

Since mahogany is a relatively rich color, women with this medium to light brown skin can have a tricky time finding a good spring wardrobe. Spring is all about light pastels and flirty colors, many of which don't fly with mahogany skin. By combining the right neutrals and brightening spring pastels to shades that work with mahogany's rosy beige, mahogany divas can ensure they get attention in spring's warm weather.

Know your skin undertones to choose colors that complement you. Mahogany ladies have light to medium brown skin with rosy beige to rosy brown undertones. Mahogany skin tone looks warm, but cool shades flatter it more than warm hues like red or yellow.

Look to gunmetal gray, silver, beige or khaki and navy clothes for your spring neutrals. Neutrals provide safe colors and can be incorporated into any season's outfit.

Use cool colors like blue and green. Colors that go well with mahogany skin include turquoise, sea green and purples. Because of its dark color, mahogany skin looks better with richer shades, so don't get too pale or pastel-hued when incorporating these colors.
