The au naturale thing just doesn't work some days. Sure, you look gorgeous sans makeup, but sometimes your skin needs that little extra something. In this case, it might be self-tanner. If your peach skin is looking particularly pasty, self-tanner can give it a bit of color, which makes both it and you even hotter. But you have to be careful when choosing the color; however, because donning the wrong shade is certain tanning death. Take your peachy complexion into consideration when choosing your tan, and you'll look beach bunny beautiful.

1.

Look for a tanner that has golden undertones in it. Your peachy skin looks best when it dons this color, as opposed to a tanner that has orange or pink. These bright shades clash with your fair skin and increase your chances of looking artificial with the tanner -- think the entire cast of "Jersey Shore."

2.

Choose a tanner that has a low level of DHA -- the chemical that reacts with your skin to give it that tan tone. Reputable brands typically contain the least amounts of DHA, which means your glow looks natural. In other words, don't buy the cheap, no-name brand just because you're low on cash this week. If you do, you'll likely end up with a less-than-chic orange glow.

3.

Grab a tanner that contains erythrulose. This nifty ingredient is actually derived from raspberries and helps your tan stick around longer. It also works with the DHA to give you a golden glow that looks so real and sexy, folks will think you just came back from a photo shoot on a tropical island -- and you don't have to tell them anything different.

Tips & Tricks

The golden rule when it comes to tanning is exfoliate first. Doing so removes any dry skin patches or bumps you have, which interfere with getting an even tan. Applying the tanner immediately after you exfoliate leaves your peach skin looking super sexy and natural.

Put a little moisturizer on particularly rough skin -- like your elbows and knees -- before you apply the tanner. Doing so prevents these spots from looking darker than the rest of your bod.
