You need to create the perfect makeup look for a photo shoot or your wedding day. Thankfully, there are simple beauty tips and tricks that you can use to paint on the picture-perfect face for your photographs. So before you strike a pose, choose makeup colors that add warmth to the yellow undertones of your skin and photography beautifully.
1.
Smooth out skin with concealer and foundation that complements the warm, yellow undertones in your tan skin. A quick flash from the camera will amplify your uneven and blotchy skin. To get the appearance of a flawless face and minimize shadows, dot a liquid caramel or honey-colored foundation on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Blend the foundation with foundation blush.
2.
Hide under-eye circles with a concealer that's no more than one shade lighter than your foundation. Swipe it on with foundation blush to banish pimples and dark patches of skin under the eyes. Reduce shine in your photographs by dusting your face with sheer pressed powder applied with a fluffy powder puff.
3.
Add warmth and color to your face with blush. To mimic the look of a healthy glow, swipe a terracotta, bronze or rose-colored powdered blush on your tan skin with an angled brush. These warm colors will complement the yellow undertones in your skin and photograph wonderfully.
4.
Make your honey-toned skin pop with a beautiful, simple and well-defined eye. A sleek, simple eye featuring a combination of warm and brown tones with flatter your tan skin and photograph beautifully. After grooming and shaping your brows with the eyebrow brush, sweep a bronze or taupe neutral eye shadow across the entire lid.
5.
Deposit a chocolate brown or charcoal gray shadow on the crease for definition. Add a shimmery, light-colored shadow across the brow bone to brighten your eyes. Line the top eyelid only with a black or chocolate brown eyeliner. Fatten your upper and lower lashes with two coats of mascara to complete the eye look.
6.
Skip the fuschia pinks or the high-wattage red lips that can look to bright in photographs. Instead, swipe on a lipstick hue that is few shades darker than your tan skin. First, line your lips with a warm bronze, rose or a browny pink lip liner. Then smooth on matching cream-based lipstick, instead of a matte formula. Matte lip colors can look flat and dry in photographs.
Because flash photography makes skin appear shinier, use blotting paper to remove shine, instead of re-powdering your face in between takes.
