Porcelain-fair skin is often paired with pale makeup shades, but you can add pop and drama with bright jewel tones. Jewel tones include sapphire blue, emerald green, amethyst purple and ruby red, as well as other clear, bright shades. Choose the jewel-toned shades that work best with your complexion to add intensity in small amounts for a playful daytime look, or go bright and bold for evening wear.

Go matte or sheer with a bright lip color. Apply a rich ruby or garnet red lipstick if you want a pinup-perfect retro look. Sweep on a bright sheer shade of fuchsia, hot pink or orange-red for an everyday punch of color.

Opt for ultra-sheer bright blush in shades of pink or coral. Heavy-coverage formulations may leave you looking clown-like. Apply a bright blush in light layers, building up color until you have rosy cheeks.

Match up amethyst shadow and liner with gorgeous green or hazel eyes or pair up sapphire shades with baby blues or warm brown eyes. Line your upper lid in a coordinating shade or tone down the color with black, brown or another neutral shade. Anchor your eyes with classic black mascara.

Paint your nails with a jewel tone color if you're nervous about bright makeup. Go red for a classic vamp look or take it up a notch with whimsical purple, emerald or sapphire nails.
Tips & Tricks
Jewel tones are the easiest to wear if your porcelain skin has a blue or pink undertone. Look for glowing golden jewel tones if your coloring is more peaches and cream than milk and roses.
