How to Choose Dewy Makeup for Cappuccino Skin

Dewy faces are a lovely sign of youth and health. Cappuccino skin that gleams from within and without is beautiful. Dewy skin is all about about luminosity -- skin looks moist and nearly makeup-free, because what you wear enhances your skin without covering it entirely. Create a makeup routine that brings out the gentle light-brown creaminess of your natural complexion with cosmetics that glow. The emphasis here is on the coloring you already have -- plus an extra-dewy sheen.

Find primer. Primer is the layer of makeup that goes right on skin and acts as a base, so other makeup sticks. Get one that works with the warm yellow undertone in your skin.

Select a tinted moisturizer. Dewy makeup is about subtle enhancement, so foundation is too heavy -- and usually too matte -- for this look. Tinted moisturizers usually work for women of varying skin tones. Choose a medium-toned one or, if your favorite cosmetic line is specifically geared toward women of color, a lighter tone.

Decide how to highlight cheeks. You can go with a cream blush or a highlighter cream. Highlighters are liquid cosmetic formulas that give your skin a pearlescent glow. Some may have a bit of tint to color your cheeks -- or pick a cream blush that mimics the color of your cheeks after you exercise. Whichever you choose, stay far away from powder makeup when you want to go dewy.

Brighten your eyes. Your eye-shadow choices probably vary between day and night, so choose an eye-shadow palette that lets you transition from morning dew to evening gleam. Palettes contain a few different shadows. Choose flat or shimmery cream formulas that you can apply with a brush or fingertips. Cappuccino-skinned women look good in ranges of pale to deeper gold.

Soften your lips. A natural lip finishes the dewy-makeup look. Your lips are probably lightly pigmented against your cappuccino skin, so don't worry about boosting color or creating contrasts. Find a lip balm or moisturizer to plump and moisten lips. Formulas with hyaluronic acid grab onto surrounding moisture for a gorgeous, dewy mouth.
