1.
Figure out your natural blush shade before choosing the right blush color. Pinch the apples of your cheeks gently -- the pinkish hue that appears is your natural blush. You can also determine your natural blush color by looking in the mirror when your flushed, such as after a jog or workout.
2.
Determine your skin tone to find a blush color that blends seamlessly into your complexion. If you look best in silver jewelry and berry-toned clothing, you most likely have a cool skin tone. If gold jewelry and orange and red clothing complement your complexion, you probably have a warm skin tone.
3.
Choose a soft, rose-colored blush if your skin has cool tones. Pick a light peach-hued blush if you have a warm-toned complexion. Go for subtle blush color that gives your skin a fresh, dewy look. Avoid too-dark blushes, which can make your complexion look garish.
4.
Apply the blush to your cheeks with a soft, clean brush in natural light, if possible. Don't over-do it!
