You need a change, and you don't just want anything subtle. You're ready for a different look, something new and exciting. Change up your look with different hair colors. It's a lot of fun, and there are a few different ways to can get the impact you're after.
Highlights
Adding highlights is easy. You can choose to use whatever color you want and place the highlights wherever you want, with fun colors like pink or red. It's up to you how many highlights you add in. Face-framing layers really stand out, and you may even want to mix and match and use a few different hues. You can weave the color how you want. Keep it only at the top, so it blends into the ends of your hair, turning to a different color, or make most of the highlights underneath, so you can only really see them when you put your hair up.
Streaks
Streaks are similar to highlights, only they're a bit larger in size. This gives you a bolder, chunkier look. You still have as much freedom in terms of color and placement as with the highlights, only they're more noticeable, so you don't need as many to make an impact. If you're going for a fun look, opt for colors that really stand out against your hair color; red on black hair, blue on blond hair, or hot pink in brown hair, for instance.
Dip Dyeing
Color over only the ends of your hair for a really dramatic new look. Color over your bangs, or, if you don't have bangs, why not get some? You want a big change after all, so take the plunge. You can also dye only around the ends of your hair, creating the same dip-dyed effect. Choose a dye that's just a shade or two off your existing hair hue or make a big statement by using a contrasting color. Pink, blue, red and green are all fun, or choose what color of the rainbow is right for you.
Extensions
There are two types of hair extensions: clip-in and permanent. Clip-ins are temporary and can be taken in and out as you please, whereas the permanent versions are bonded into your hair. Whatever route you decide to take, you can find extensions in all colors of the rainbow, from blue to pink, to red, orange, purple and more. With human hair extensions, you can actually dye a set of extensions any color you want. With thinner extensions you get the look of highlighted hair; thicker wefts create the look of chunky streaks.
