Frayed, frizzy locks getting you down? Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with smooth, shiny hair, and you may not have the money for a personal hairdresser. If you're stuck with rough, frizzy hair, controlling and managing your mane can seem like a full-time job. Certain products might work well, but who knows what chemicals you're applying to your scalp? Try some natural frizz-fighting remedies and say hello to moisturized, shiny, manageable hair in the blink of an eye.
Jojoba Oil
1.
Jump in the shower and wet your hair thoroughly.
2.
Massage two or three drops of jojoba oil into your hair, then jump out of the shower and cover your hair with a shower cap.
3.
Leave the oil and cap on your hair for 15 to 30 minutes. Then return to the shower and shampoo twice with clarifying shampoo to remove all traces of the oil.
4.
Dry and style your hair as normal and accept the compliments on your frizz-free 'do with grace.
Natural Mask
1.
Mash a banana and half an avocado in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly so you have a greenish-yellow paste.
2.
Apply the paste to dry hair and comb it through to ensure it's spread evenly.
3.
Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap and leave it for 10 minutes.
4.
Rinse the mask out of your hair with cool water. The potassium in the banana and the fatty acids in the avocado combine to equal gorgeous, shiny hair without a hint of chemicals.
Mayonnaise
1.
Load your hair up with mayo straight from the fridge. The egg and oil in the sandwich spread make a luxurious, moisturizing conditioner.
2.
Leave the mayo on your hair for five minutes to an hour: the frizzier your hair, the longer you'll want to leave it on.
3.
Shampoo your hair thoroughly to remove all traces of the mayo. Dry and style as usual, noting your hair's newfound smoothness and lack of frizz.
Rinse your hair with cool water after regular washing to seal the cuticles and prevent frizz.
Air-dry your hair whenever possible to prevent frizz-causing damage and split ends.
Protect your hair from the elements. Use an umbrella when it's raining and spray with UV ray protector to help your hair keep its luster. If it's windy out, wear a hat to protect your ends and to keep your hair hydrated.
If you don't shampoo oil out of your hair thoroughly, frizz will be the least of your problems. You'll end up looking like you haven't washed your hair in weeks.
