While a polo shirt serves as a stylish option on the golf course or as part of casual weekend outfit, its collar has a tendency to prove unruly. A rolled, curled, wrinkled, faded or ratty polo shirt collar doesn't do you any favors in the looks department, so it's important to give polo collars the TLC they need. If you're willing spend a little extra time, you can keep your polo shirt collars looking fresh and fashionable.
1.
Pull those polo shirts out of the dryer the minute the cycle is finished. Don't let them linger in there or the collars will come out wrinkled and curled.
2.
Head for the ironing board, pronto. Heat up a steam iron filled with distilled water on a medium setting. Slide the shirt onto the ironing board and unfold the collar to flatten it so you can press it.
3.
Spray some fabric sizing on the collar to help firm up the fabric and make it look fresh. Iron the collar with the steam iron, and then fold the collar down as you would normally wear it.
4.
Run the iron over the top edge of the collar -- about 1/2 inch from the top. This will help your collar look polished and perfectly in place. Iron the rest of the polo shirt if it needs it, or pop the shirt onto a hanger and put into the closet.
