New growth for kinky hair can create two different looks when the rest of your hair is moisturized and conditioned, as the new growth reduces your hair's shine and softness. The untreated hair needs a little more maintenance than the rest of your hair to keep it from drying out and ruining your overall look. While keeping your hair moisturized is necessary, too much moisture creates a greasy look that leads to frequent washing and can damage your lovely locks.
1.
Wet your hair with warm water, and massage your moisturizing shampoo into your hair from roots to ends. Focus on the new growth when massaging the product into your hair, as it will require more product than the rest of your hair.
2.
Rinse the shampoo from your hair and massage the deep conditioner cream into your hair. Keep the conditioner in your hair for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it out of your hair.
3.
Gently blot your hair with a towel to remove excess water, and distribute the leave-in conditioner through your hair. Apply an additional dime-sized amount to your new growth to keep it moisturized.
4.
Allow your hair to air dry, and apply a quarter-sized amount of hair moisturizer to your hair. Comb your hair with the wide-toothed comb to coat your hair with the moisturizer.
