You know you're working it, girl, in those new sexy leather boots. But add some city grime and normal wear and tear, and they won't retain that just-out-of-the-box look. To keep those knee-huggers looking glam, you have to pamper their shiny skins. Leather can dry and crack if not properly moisturized, much like our own skin. So keep those ankle, knee or thigh-high boots kicking by cooking up some TLC every now and then.

1.

Mix 1/4 cup white vinegar and 1/4 cup water in a cup. Moisten one end of a cloth with the mixture.

2.

Scrub at stains on the boots with the cloth. Wipe the entire boot of dirt and dust.

3.

Run a damp cloth over the boots. Dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth.

4.

Scoop 1 teaspoon of petroleum jelly on a soft cloth. Rub the jelly onto the entire surface of one leather boot using a slow circular motion, allowing the jelly to slowly penetrate the leather. Repeat with the other boot. The jelly restores shine to the leather and gives it a layer of protection from dirt and moisture.

5.

Store leather boots in a moisture-free area. Crumple newspapers and place inside tall boots to keep their shape.
