If you're the proud owner of a new pair of black UGG boots, you know that your snuggly, soft UGG boots are the absolute height of casual, relaxed style. It's true that dirt may be a bit more visible on your black UGG boots, but caring for your boots is no more difficult than caring for light colored UGG boots. Take care of your black UGG boots with a regular cleaning about every 45 days and you can wear your boots in comfort and style for years.
Stain Prevention
1.
Keep your black UGG boots looking good by applying water and stain repellent before you wear your boots for the first time. Water and stain repellent will help to keep your black UGG boots clean, dry and protected from stains. Use a water and stain repellent made specifically for UGGS, or a high quality water and stain repellent appropriate for suede and sheepskin.
2.
Spray your black UGG boots with the water and stain repellent until the surface of your boots is evenly damp, but not soaked. Set the boots aside to dry for at least 24 hours. Keep your boots away from sunlight and hot places such as heating vents.
3.
Brush your black UGG boots with a suede brush. Brush in one direction to restore the natural nap.
Washing Black UGG Boots
1.
Wash your black UGG boots by hand. Use a cleaning and conditioning product specifically for UGGS boots, or a product appropriate for cleaning and conditioning sheepskin boots.
2.
Mist your black UGG boots lightly with a spray bottle filled with water, or use a damp sponge to wet the surface of your boots.
3.
Dilute the cleaning and conditioning product with an equal amount of water. Don't use the product full strength, as the solution is strong and may damage your black UGG boots.
4.
Moisten a damp sponge with the diluted cleaning solution. Scrub your black UGG boots gently, as rough scrubbing may damage your boots.
5.
Rinse your black UGG boots under clean, cool water, then squeeze out the excess water.
6.
Stuff your boots with newspaper or tissue paper to hold the shape. Set your boots in a warm place to dry, but don't place your boots in sunlight or near a heating vent.
7.
Brush your dry boots with a suede brush. Brush in one direction to bring back the nap of your black UGG boots.
8.
Protect your clean black UGG boots with a fresh coat of water and stain repellent.
If the inside of your black UGG boots aren't smelling great, freshen them up with a sprinkling of 2 tsp. of corn flour and 2 tsp. of baking soda. Leave the powder in your boots overnight, then shake the powder out the next morning.
