You already know peep toe heels are the best of both worlds when it comes to showing off a new pedicure in formal wear, but you may have run out of inspiration when it comes to other ways to wear this classic and cute style. If you thought that was all peep toe heels could do, say goodbye to your old reservations. You'll be a believer in the power of the peep toe in no time.
Peep toes are already a retro style, so what better way to wear them than with a retro dress? Try to find a dress that isn't too short, because '50s style simply should not coincide with accidentally flashing your goodies. Since these shoes are in neutral tan, they're perfect for a bright and fun shift dress. For example, red or blue would coordinate perfectly with tan footwear, and a pattern that picks up on the tan accents is exciting without being in-your-face. If you're wearing a solid dress, try to add excitement in other accessories, such as a bejeweled clutch or feathered headband. To dress this look up a bit, try a dress with a fuller skirt, still keeping the retro vibe in mind.
Dressing Up Jeans
Tan peep toes and a pair of jeans are the perfect mix of casual and dressy. Because the shoes are in a lighter shade, this look totally works for daytime. If you're wearing dark wash jeans, though, it will transition into nighttime, too. For daytime, try them with lighter-wash boyfriend jeans, cuffed to show off the heel, and a fitted button-down or unfussy T-shirt. Trouser-style jeans are great for day or evening, paired with a nicer top -- silk, sheer or shiny -- or with a casual shirt.
Proceed with confidence: This look will generate stares of admiration and jealousy. If you want to showcase showstopping legs in shorts, look no further than the peep toe heel. They add the extra tone and definition to your legs of wearing heels, but are flirty and cute enough to say "Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on." Make sure shorts aren't too short -- no one should be able to see the bottom of your bottom -- and a dressier, pressed and cuffed style is appropriate here. For an eye-catching look, go semi-monochromatic with tan shoes and shorts with a white or cream top, and add touches of metallics or bright color in your accessories. If you're still unsure about this, just know that the tan-colored shoes will make your legs look extra long. Considering it now?
Wear Them to Work
If your office dress code is business casual, or casual and you just like to dress up, peep toe heels can be just the right touch of femininity. Wear tan shoes during spring or summer with white trousers or a skirt. Balance the casual feel of the bottom with a structured blazer in tan or white. An all-white look for work can be a refreshing burst of light in a dreary office. Pants in navy or brown would also look great here, making the look a little less casual or to transition into fall.
