Boyfriend jeans are aptly named to look like jeans that you snagged from your boyfriend and wore as your own. That means they're going to have a loose and baggy fit. Boyfriend jeans are super trendy as are tall boots, but can the two super cute pieces be worn together?
Style Problems
So, here's the deal. Tall boots are generally meant to be worn over pants. That means that you need to put on a slim-fitting pant to pull off your shoes. Boyfriend jeans are anything but fitted. They're purposely baggy, so tucking them into your boots just will not work. So, if you're looking to follow trends, wearing boyfriend jeans with tall boots just doesn't work.
Other Options
Since you're probably not going to be able to pull off boyfriend jeans with tall boots, try a few other alternatives that'll still give you a fab and fashionable look. Instead of wearing tall boots with your boyfriend jeans, try them with booties -- boots that hit somewhere around the ankle. Roll your jeans up a bit to show off more of your ankle boot. Keep the boot chunky or try something more feminine like a stiletto heel.
If You Want to Wear a Tall Boot
If you like the idea of wearing denim with a tall boot and you want to rock something a bit more edgy, instead of a baggy boyfriend jean, try distressed skinny jeans. Since your jeans are fitted, your tall boots will slip on perfectly. And, you'll still get the fun of wearing a tall boot with a pant that's a little bit tougher and less feminine, just like a boyfriend jean.
Get Creative
Another trend growing in popularity is to wear denim shorts over tights during the cooler months. Instead of boyfriend jeans, try boyfriend shorts over tights. They have the exact same feel as conventional boyfriend jeans, and since they're shorter, they won't compete for space with your tall boots.
