Hotel room at the Cosmopolitan and tickets to LOVE, check. All that's left to do before your Vegas getaway is figure out what to pack.
How you are dressed can significantly increase your confidence, which can help with getting into nightclubs and talking to cute guys. Jeans in the daytime are OK for walking the Strip, but denim in the evening can make you feel underdressed. If you must wear denim, choose jeans that suit the occasion.
Think Skinny
"The official dress code for most major Las Vegas nightclubs is listed as 'stylish attire'," says Jack Colton, "Any jeans considered too baggy will likely get rejected." While the rule normally applies to men, Vegas nightclubs have been clamping down on us girls too. Anything too baggy is not only unflattering and too casual, in most cases it is not allowed. Opt for a pair of fitted or skinny dark jeans -- if you must wear denim -- with a dressier top and heels to nail the look.
Skip the Distressed Look
Distressed jeans in general are more casual, so dressing them up for a look that is nightclub-appropriate can be tricky. If skinny jeans aren't your thing, choose instead a dressier dark wide-leg jean. The darke,r flared denim looks more like a flattering trouser and pairs well with a flashy top and that cute pair of shoes you have been looking for an excuse to wear.
Other Denim Options
Let's face it, denim is easy to pair with a variety of outfits -- one of the many reasons we love it so much. If you are a denim fanatic and can't seem to tear yourself away from your go-to fabric even for one Vegas trip, consider additional denim pieces that might be a fun vacation from your comfort zone. Don a sexy denim strapless dress or pair of denim shorts with a sophisticated tunic and gladiator heels. Just remember to choose both in a dark shade, the lighter shades are too casual for nightwear.
Jean Alternatives
For Vegas visitors who are ready to step out of the jeans family but aren't skilled in pairing pieces together, keep your pieces simple. Black is a safe option to substitute for a jean; it will dress the outfit up and goes with a variety of colors. Try a black cigarette pant or perhaps an all black miniskirt with a brightly colored loose top. Playing with proportions is easy to do with black and it usually looks great.
