Take your lace skirt to the next level with the perfect styling. Lace doesn't have to look matronly or overly prim and proper. A gray lace skirt can be worn different ways, from perfectly polished to uber-feminine, to fun and quirky, to a little bit edgy. It's all in how you wear it.
Black is the perfect neutral shade to pair with your gray lace skirt. Since lace is inherently feminine, you can go one of two ways here. You can either pick a tank that's made of softer fabrics such as silk or chiffon to perfectly complement your skirt, or you can pair yours with a basic cotton tank to dress it down a bit. Add a black or metallic ballet flat or sandal and you're set.
If you were a fan of the feminine/casual juxtaposition, take your style to the next level and wear your skirt with a printed top. Keep your look girly by working in a floral print blouse or make it more interesting by adding a more contrasting print. Try stripes, for instance.
Keep your entire ensemble soft and pretty by sticking to subtle neutrals such as nude. Try pairing your skirt with nude pumps. This does two things: It makes your skirt look much more romantic, and it lengthens your legs, so if you're rocking a mini, nude pumps are the perfect finishing touch. On top, wear something in a blush or a nude or subtly switch it up with a white or an ivory.
This may seem a bit obvious, but why not stick with the color of your skirt? If you don't like your look completely monochromatic, work in a top in a different shade of gray. Use your accessories to make your look pop. Mixing neutrals with bright shades as accents is incredibly chic, so try throwing on a colorful pair of heels. Think yellows, pinks and oranges. Or, work in a more subtle accent with a bright red nail or lip color.
