We've all heard people say that black and brown don't go together. But guess what? These days they totally do! Take a fashion-forward step and wear both colors together. Since fashion rules are evolving, and black and brown are both neutral colors, it's totally acceptable to throw on a pair of brown boots with your black leggings.

How to Wear it

This look is pretty easy to get right, so if you're a first timer don't fret. Any pair of black leggings is fine. Just make sure that they're long enough so that when you slip on your boots, no skin shows on your leg. The look generally works best when it's casual, so try a flat or chunky brown boot.

Take a Cue From Your Favorite Celeb

If you're still not so sure about pairing black and brown, check out some of the stylish celebs who sport the look. Fashionable ladies like Hillary Duff, Lauren Conrad, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna rock the look with chic confidence.

What to Wear With it

If you're going to wear black and brown together, it's best to keep the rest of your colors neutral. Bright shades will completely overwhelm your look and make it look tacky. Whites, grays and other shades of brown work best. If you want to add another dimension to the look, throw on a metallic accessory or two.

Other Options

Try a boot that's both black and brown. Many brands sell great black boots with subtle brown accents. Have even more fun and try a print. Leopard print boots not only naturally contain both shades, but make your look totally trendy.
