The idea of one dress worn 10 ways sounds like a savvy shopper’s dream come true. Thanks to the infinity or convertible dress, that dream is now a reality. The dress features a slim skirt with two straps of super-long fabric that you can twist and tie into a variety of combinations. Because the infinity dress affords different neckline styles, you might need to switch up your bra of choice, depending on the type of style you are wearing.

Halter or One-Shoulder

When you tie your infinity dress to an eye-catching halter or one-shoulder neckline, you can draw the eye away from your potential problem areas, such as slightly larger hips. The right bra for this figure-flattering infinity dress neckline is a convertible one. These bra types have detachable straps that can be adjusted to almost as many necklines as your infinity dress itself. For a one-shoulder neckline, use only one bra strap across your chest to give yourself some extra lift in the dress or switch to an around-the-neck halter bra strap style.

If you tie the extra straps of fabric in your infinity dress around your chest and belt at the waist, you’ve got a chic strapless look. To go along with this outfit, you need a chic strapless bra. Because finding the right bra is like finding a needle in a haystack, look for one that has underwire, some light padding to provide a seamless look and silicone side grips that can help your bra from slipping down to your waist.

Criss-Cross Neckline

Another flattering infinity neckline is the criss-cross look where you take the two straps of fabric and put the right piece over your left shoulder and the left piece over your right. The result is an X-like effect on your top. This can be a tricky style for finding the right bra. Look for a strapless bra that has a U-shaped dip in the front so you can still wear a bra, but no one will see it through the keyhole of your dress top.

When In Doubt

If you hate switching your bra every time you switch your infinity dress straps, consider using breast petals, which are adhesive breast cups that attach to each breast to provide a smoothing effect that can be worn with virtually any infinity dress style. Larger busts can find a solution with a silicone or nylon adhesive bra that attaches to your breasts to provide extra support, yet allows for strapless and halter variations.
