Many women wonder if they can pull off boots in the work place. Once winter hits, we try everything to keep warm while still looking spectacular at work. Boots are an amazing alternative to heels and look quite fabulous with business casual wear. Stick with black, brown and neutrals to achieve this look. If you are more daring, go with a fun color such as deep red or green -- but tone them down with a black suit or skirt. With the right tips, you'll look fashion-forward at work in no time.

Knee-High Boots

High-heeled knee-high boots look incredible with pencil suit skirts and dresses. When wearing skirts in the winter, knee-high boots will keep you warm on your commute. Plus, they are fashion-forward and stylish. A main alternative to heels, knee-high boots make your legs look long and lean. On days when it's a bit snowy, try a pair of flat knee-high boots. You'll be more comfortable yet still maintain a high fashion vibe.

Ankle Boots

If you're sick of wearing basic office pumps all the time, switch it up with some stiletto ankle booties. Ankle boots are an absolute must-have for suit pants. They look fierce with all cuts of pants -- from wide leg to boot leg. Stay away from open-toe booties, they are way too casual for office attire. If your office is a little less casual, try your ankle boots with a skirt. Stick with black ankle boots and heavy black stockings to tone it down a bit.

Mid-Calf Boots

Mid-calf boots are great for the gal with longer legs. If you are on the shorter side, they will make your legs look even shorter. Like knee-high boots, mid-calves look impeccable with skirts and dresses. Because of their height, go with skirts that hit right above the knee. Skirts below the knee will make your legs appear shorter.

Platform Boots

If your office has a funkier, more creative vibe, try a pair of platform boots. They are super trendy right now and look fabulous with skirts and pants. If you're more daring and want to bring a little oomph into your work wardrobe, platforms will do the trick. Tone them down with a classic black suit or plain dress.
