Tucking your jeans into boots seems to be the trend of the moment, but some boots are so short they can be tough to tuck. So, if you're wearing mid-calf boots, you may not be sure if the rule still applies. With shorter boots, you can really go either way, so tuck away if you wish or just leave them as is.
Why It Works
If you were working with a super short boot, like an ankle bootie, it'd be a little less feasible to tuck your jeans into your boots because there just wouldn't be space to do it. But a mid-calf boot rises high enough that you can definitely tuck your jeans in and make them look fab.
Picking Your Jeans
If you're going to tuck your jeans into your boots, make sure you're wearing jeans that will tuck. The last thing you want is your pants bunching where you tuck them in so make sure you pick a skinny jean. You'll want your jeans to be fitted throughout so stay away from any straight leg jeans that are not fitted through the calf.
Picking Your Boot
Picking your boot is a little easier, because you don't really have any rules like you do with your jeans. Any boot you like will do. Whether you want to rock a super-high heel or keep things comfy in a flat boot, your look will work perfectly. So pick your favorite mid-calf boot and slip it on over your skinny jean.
Now you know you can wear your mid-calf boot tucked into jeans. If you've got jeans that aren't quite fitted enough, don't fret. Just roll them up a little bit instead. You'll get the same cool streamlined effect. Just make sure you're not trying to roll up wide-leg or boot cut jeans. They're too wide, and the silhouette will just look strange. Instead try slightly baggy boyfriend jeans. They look fab rolled up and will still show off your mid-calf boot and look totally fashionable.
