The 2011 awards season was huge for Calvin Klein dresses, as many of Hollywood's leading ladies chose to wear the designer's gowns on the most buzzed about red carpets of the year. Claire Danes and Emma Stone's clean, sleek and simple Calvin Klein numbers wowed them at the Golden Globes in January. Jennifer Lawrence and Gwyneth Paltrow's sexy CK gowns, teamed with stunning jewels at the Academy Awards, garnered even more attention for the brand from award show stylists.
Gwyneth Goes for Glamour
Gwyneth Paltrow's shimmering Calvin Klein column dress, with a sexy thigh-high slit stole the show at the 2011 Oscars. The actress was given points from "In Style" magazine for taking the plunge and flaunting her fabulous figure in a liquid platinum Calvin Klein Collection gown. Paltrow's history with Calvin Klein goes way back, to when she topped best dressed lists at the 1996 Academy Awards in a slinky charmeuse number. "My idea of glamour goes back to when the first great stars, like Carole Lombard, Myrna Loy and Jean Harlow, would slink around in silky charmeuse gowns that looked right out of the lingerie drawer," Calvin Klein said at the time.
Claire Danes' Winning Golden Globes Look
Simple and minimalist won over fashion critics on the 2011 Golden Globes red carpet. The ultra-bright pop color actress Claire Danes chose in a sleek, backless Calvin Klein dress was touted as one of the most memorable at the event. Also coming up rosy and receiving huge points for her CK gown at the Globes, was nominee Emma Stone in a peachy-pink short-sleeved floor-length number teamed with a Van Cleef and Arpels ring.

Calvin Klein women's wear creative director Francisco Costa's 2010 Resort collection received a nod of approval from actress Naomi Watts, when she was spotted showing off a strapless dress at the show's after party. Other celebrities known to wear Calvin Klein's simply sexy dresses regularly, include Katie Holmes, Diane Kruger, Isla Fisher, Hilary Swank and Michelle Monaghan.
The Most 'Calvin Klein' Costa's Ever Done
"Women's Wear Daily" has given high praise for Francisco Costa's Calvin Klein Spring 2011 dress collection, including a hot halter dress in ecru washed silk. "It was the kind of spare, sexy look that defines the smoldering minimalism Calvin Klein invented," wrote WWD. Calvin Klein president Tom Murry said: "It's the most 'Calvin Klein' [Costa's] ever done."
