If there was ever a time to experiment with color in your makeup it's in the spring when color palettes are full of bright, bold colors. All over the fashion runways and gracing the pages of the top fashion magazines, bright eyeshadow colors are the must-have beauty accessory of the season.

Purple Pefection

The bold, vibrant hues of violet shadow are a beauty favorite. From bright purple with blue undertones to deep, rich violet with elements of pink, any shade of purple can be a perfect complement to the spring season color palette. The key to pulling off this daring eye look, as with any bright eyeshadow, is to keep the remainder of your makeup minimal. You want to avoid the dreaded clown look that is easy to stumble upon if the rest of your makeup is competing with your eyes. Stick to soft nudes, baby pinks or other muted pastel shades for your lips and cheeks.

Mellow Yellow

The word yellow and makeup may initially spark a panic, but when done properly the result is actually very fashion-forward and striking. You need to consider a few things when you attempt the yellow shade trend. First, avoid covering your entire lid or under your brow bone with yellow shadow; instead, use it as a liner for your top or bottom lids. Next, if the in-your-face tone of yellow shadow is too much for you to master, try shades in the same family that have a decidedly less extreme tone. Try bright or medium golds that are matte or shimmer-based for an alternative yellow effect.

Green with Envy

Heavily saturated and full of pigmentation, green eyeshadow ranges from vivid green apple shades to deep moss green hues. If green is your shadow color choice this season, remember to pick the right shade for your complexion; the deeper your complexion, the brighter the color. Ladies with fairer skin should stick to greens that are more subtle to avoid overpowering your skin tone.

Blue Crush

Gone are the days when blue eyeshadow was synonymous with bad makeup, big hair and harshly overdone eyes. Now, especially for the current spring season, blue eyeshadow is a hip, chic shade that makes your eyes pop with just a few swipes across your lids. Blue comes in a variety of colors, so have fun with your choices. Turquoise, sky blue and periwinkle are all members of the blue eyeshadow family that are great for the elements of spring makeup looks.
