Banish the tacky bra straps peeking out from under your tank top with a little creativity. Because no one should ever see your bra straps, even with the slinkiest camisole or tank, find the right bras to wear with a tank top. Keep it chic and cool in the summer with bras that stay hidden as they should.
Adhesive Bra
This brilliant bra is like a set of big bandages -- peel off the adhesive backing and stick them to your breasts for support that won't show under your tank tops. Make sure you choose adhesive bras that match your skin tone. No one will ever know what you're wearing under your tanks.
Convertible Bra
A convertible bra can be anything you want it to be. Wear the straps in standard fashion, if the straps align to stay hidden under your tank. Criss-cross the straps or take them off the bra to make it into a strapless style. Adjust the straps and check it out in the mirror to make sure nothing peeps out under your tank.
Racerback Bra
Wear a racerback or sport bra. Because these bras often have deeper armholes and straps with T-backs, they can fit perfectly under many tank styles. Check out the cut of the tank under your arms and in the back to make sure no bra straps show.
Standard Bra Trick
If you can sew, break out the needle and thread so you can wear your regular bras with your tanks. You'll need two sets of sew-in snaps, a needle, thread that matches your tank and a short piece of crochet cotton thread, such as size 10. Stitch one half of the snap to the inside shoulder seam of your tank top -- right where you want your bra strap to sit. Cut a 3-inch length of the crochet cotton thread and stitch this to the inside shoulder seam of your tank top, about 1 inch away from the snap you sewed. Stitch the other end of the crochet cotton thread to the other half of the snap. Loop the thread around your bra strap and connect the snaps for a surefire way to keep that strap in hiding.
