Overview
Can’t resist the carefree style of a pair of gauchos? One part wide-leg pant and one part swinging skirt cropped at the knee, you can rock this style staple with strappy sandals, sky-high pumps and lace up heels. But when the weather turns cold, you don’t have to pack away these fun-loving and stylish pants. Whether you are going clubbing with your girls or attending a casual work function, channel your inner boho babe by wearing your gauchos with your most-stylish pair of leather or suede boots.
Cropped Booties
When dressing for the office, pairing your gauchos with cropped booties, a tailored blazer and a silk camisole never disappoints the wearer. For day, pair your leather booties with your khaki, olive-green or chocolate-brown pair gauchos and dark-colored opaque tights. For evening, amp up your cropped bootie’s flirt factor by ditching the tights and swapping out the camisole with a flowy chiffon blouse and an arm full of silver or gold bangles.
Peep-Toe Boots
In the early fall, the temps are dropping, but you can still rock an open-toe shoe. In fact, a sexy peep-toe boot with a 3-inch heel is the perfect complement to your wide-leg pants. For after-dark chic, wear a lace top, a velvet pair of gauchos and your favorite brown or black pair of suede peep-toe booties. Don’t forget to polish your toes with a vibrant, red, pink or deep-purple nail polish for an unexpected pop of color on your feet.
Tall High-Heel Boots
Want to add a few hippie-dippie touches to your gauchos? First, belt a tight-fitting sweater over your favorite pair of flared pants. Then add a pair of suede or leather, tall boots, a newsboy cap and three of four long strands of silver or gold necklaces to complete your retro and runway-inspired look. To look your best, always wear a pair of plain streamlined tall boots that don’t have buckles and added designs on the shaft. Unfortunately, these design touches will add bulk to your legs and will not complement your wide-flare pants.
Wedge-Heel Boots
For trend-savvy style, wear your dark-colored gauchos with a textured pair of opaque tights and wedge-heel boots that stop at the ankle. Wrap yourself in a solid-colored turtleneck sweater up top to balance your voluminous bottoms. If you prefer a tall wedge over an ankle-length boots, however, skip the tights and wear a suede pair of black or chocolate-brown wedges instead.
