How to Do the Bohemian Look With a Headband

Get in touch with your inner flower child by rocking a bohemian-style headband. Boho-chic headbands are typically made of stretchy elastic material that you can easily slip over your head. Unlike the traditional high headband look, bohemian headbands are worn just over the eyebrows, hippie-style. You can customize your look by choosing a headband featuring your favorite color, such as red or gold, or picking hair gear adorned with a variety of embellishments.

Give medium-length or long hair a hippie-inspired look by creating soft, flowing waves. The casual hairdo will complement a bohemian headband. Use a curling iron with a 3/4-inch barrel to create spiral curls all over your head. Comb the curls out with your fingers for a tousled look.

Choose a elasticized hippie headband that would have looked right at home at Woodstock. Allow your personality to shine through by picking a headband adorned with beads, feathers or gemstones. For a touch of boho glamour, go with a braided gold or silver headband.

Slip the band over your head so that it rests right above your hairline and the tops of your ears. Make sure that any embellishments are facing the front so that you can show them off. If you prefer a bold look, layer several thin headbands on top of each other, or just wear one wide band.

If a headband feels loose, secure it into place with a bobby pin in an inconspicuous spot, such as behind a ear.
