There's nothing like coming home after a long day and cracking open a fizzy beer. Before you guzzle that beer down though, try washing your hair with it. Beer in your hair? It's not as crazy as it sounds. While beer accompanies your pizza fabulously, it's also a fantastic way to bring shine, body and strength to your hair. So have a drink to a future that includes beautiful hair.
If your hair's looking dull, beer can bring back a beautiful natural shine to your hair. Beer contains vitamin B as well as natural sugars, which coat your strands and add a lustrous shine. Rather than spending lots of money on a product you spray in your hair to add shine, just rinse your locks with a little bit of beer after shampooing.
If you have strands that lay limp and flat on your head, washing your hair with beer can add all the life and body its been missing. Flat hair is usually oily, and all that extra oil weighs the hair down. The alcohol in beer removes all that excess oil, giving your hair less weight and more lift.
There are tons of products on the market to help repair damaged hair, but often they're expensive and full of chemicals. Why not just rinse your hair with beer? Beer contains proteins in the malt, which help strengthen weak, brittle hair. Healthier hair is not just stronger -- it's also shinier and softer.
After shampooing, just pour the beer on your head, rub it in for a minute or two, then rinse it out with cool water. This gives your hair some extra body and shine. When you're picking a beer to use in your hair, try to find one that doesn't have much odor -- you don't want to smell like you just came from the bar. Don't feel like you have to open up a brand new beer, either. Just save the remains of one you couldn't finish and use that on your hair. It doesn't matter if the beer's flat or fizzy -- it'll still have the same impact on your hair.
