Nail polish smudges muck up your pretty manicure or pedicure. One minute you have polish perfection, and the next you have an ugly smudge. The true key to avoiding this nail polish problem is to give yourself plenty of time. In other words, don't polish and then jump right into the next task. If you can't put life on hold for long, keep some products in your beauty arsenal that can help you avoid polish failure.

Quick and Dirty

1.

Coat your nails with a quick-dry polish to reduce the likelihood of smudges.

2.

Spray your nails with a quick-dry spray about 10 to 15 seconds after stroking on the last coat of polish.

3.

Stick your nails under a nail dryer, if you can spare the time, to put the finishing touch on them. If you can't spare the time, just take it easy and try not to ding your freshly polished nails.

More Time Method

1.

Stroke on the polish in thin coats. Give each coat at least 60 seconds of drying time before moving on to the next one.

2.

Top the polish with a clear coat. Wait about five minutes to let it dry.

3.

Brush nail oil onto each nail to set the polish. Voila! Your nails are good to go.
