Want to turn those moon eyes into hazy blue moons with a smoky eyeshadow look? Smoky eyes are big right now, so take advantage of the celeb trend to bust out metallic, shimmery dark eye colors, thick black mascara and and the "I'm too sexy" attitude to go with it. Practice your smoky eye look before the big night out. When done correctly, this can make moon eyes appear more elongated. It even works for close-set moon eyes. Hit the vanity and get mixing those shimmer shades for your new look.

1.

Close one eye. Line the top lid with a deep black or charcoal eyeliner. Draw the eyeliner pencil all the way along your lid to the end of your eye. This can help give your eyes more of an almond shape; plus, the dark color is a must for your smoldering look. When you finish with one eye, do the second eye in the same way.

2.

Dip your eyeshadow brush in a medium dark tone (like copper or metallic gray). Then apply eyeshadow from the lash line along the middle of your eye up toward the brow bone. Concentrate on the outer third of your eye. The smoky look draws emphasis out toward the edge of the eye.

3.

Take a lighter tone (like taupe or dove gray) and cover the brow bone and the inside of the eye. Do this for both eyes.

4.

Blend the lighter and darker colors together for a smoky-cool gradation. If you do the dark sexy shade without the lighter tones, you'll look a little scary. This turns the look from freaky to fierce.

5.

Take that dark eyeshadow and run it along the lower edge of your eyes. The look is a little messy. It's not going to be a thin, even line. But it gives sex appeal and helps widen your eyes.

6.

Complete the look with thick black mascara. Now put on your best pout for a red-hot appearance.

Tips & Tricks

Make close-set eyes appear farther apart by putting white shimmery eyeshadow at the inner creases. If you have small moon eyes (in relation to your other features), stick with more medium tones, like taupe and russet.
