Brown-eyed babes sometimes feel their dark peepers are a bit boring. Everyone knows that blue and green eyes can stop traffic, but are brown eyes just as intense? They can be when you know how to apply the right makeup, including eyeliner and mascara. Eyeliner adds drama and depth to your eyes, while mascara accentuates your lashes, leaving you with super sultry peepers. Play up those beautiful eyes of yours by applying makeup in the correct way.
1.
Create some contrast around your eyes by using a purple-toned eyeliner, such as violet or amethyst. The soft hue against your dark eye creates a smoky and smoldering look that makes tongues wag. Draw a line on your top lid as close to your eyelashes as possible with a pencil. If you're having difficulty drawing a straight line, take a piece of tape and apply it directly above where you want the line to appear. Fill in the space in between your lashes and the tape, then remove the tape carefully. You should now have a top line that is perfectly straight and creates a sexy contrast with the color of your eyes. Push the tape down on your arm to make it less sticky before applying it to your lid.
2.
Apply the eyeliner to your lower rim, if desired. This sultry look makes your eyes pop and makes them much more dramatic than they are without. Plus, purple-toned eyeliner just looks slammin'. Place your pencil on the outer corner of your eye and draw a line where the lashes meet the rim. Keep going until you reach the outer portion of your iris. If you really want to stand out, continue the line until it hits the inner corner of your eye.
3.
Curl your lashes using an eyelash curler. Simply open the contraption with your fingers and clamp it down on your lashes. Hold the curl for about 10 seconds and let go. This nifty trick really helps to open your eyes and makes your lashes look more dramatic.
4.
Remove the wand of a tube of black or brown mascara so that only a little mascara remains -- too much on the wand gives you hideous clumps. Hold the wand horizontally and press it against the lash area closest to your lid. Push the wand upward toward your lash ends to apply the mascara. Repeat this maneuver several times until it looks like your lashes are coated with the mascara. Allow it to dry, then apply another coat to really accentuate your lashes.
5.
Run the tip of your mascara wand across your bottom lashes. Once each one has received a bit of mascara love, remove the excess with the wand to prevent your lashes from sticking together and looking goopy. Now you should have perfectly pleasing eyes that look hot and accentuate the smokin' brown hue.
Apply a light dusting of setting powder over your lids before applying your makeup. Your eyelids are pretty greasy, which can cause problems when applying makeup and getting it to stay in place. The powder prevents the shine and helps your makeup stick around.
