Create the high drama eyes that do the talking with expert eye shadow. It's easy to learn the tricks that will make your eyes look sultry and sexy. A bit of dark eye shadow on your lower eyelids will create major definition and simmering appeal. Using the right touch will amp up your eyes for the glow-girl impact you want.

1.

Apply your eye shadow to your upper eyelids. Sweep the lightest color of your palette over your entire lids from eyelashes up to the eyebrows. Next, apply a medium color on the outer half of your eyelid between the eyelashes and the crease. Last, apply the darkest color over the crease of your eyelid from the inner corner to the outer corner. Blend everything well with a flat eye shadow brush.

2.

Line your eyes with eyeliner. If you're going for high drama--as in evening eyes--use black eyeliner. Otherwise, you can dial it back a smidge by using eyeliner that matches the color palette of your eye shadow. Line the top lid from the inner corner to the outer corner, making a smooth and even line. Skip lining the bottom lashes with the eyeliner since you'll be using eye shadow.

3.

Load the darkest eye shadow in your palette onto an angled eye shadow brush. This is the color you used in the crease of your eyelids. Touch the brush lightly to your lower lash line at about the midpoint and sweep it gently out to the outer corner of your eyes. Keep the bristles of the brush snugged right against your lashes to make the eye shadow as close to your lower lash line as possible. Move the brush slowly and carefully along the lash line to make sure you create an even line.

4.

Blend this line of eye shadow carefully with the brush to soften it slightly. The finished effect should be soft, yet dramatic.

5.

Apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
