History
Alexander Wang is a Native California designer born in 1984 and raised in San Francisco. He moved to New York City at the age of 18 to study at Parsons Design School. Even though dropped out, he continued to work in the fashion industry and launched the official Alexander Wang label in 2007. The collections have appeared in over 200 boutiques and retail stores around the globe. In 2008, Alexander Wang won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and used the $20,000 award funds to expand his fashion design business.

Alexander Wang dresses, suits and accessories have been spotted on celebs including Hills star Audrina Partridge, Nicki Minaj and Vanessa Minillo. The initial Alexander Wang collection consisted of cashmere sweaters and luxury pieces. The designer has expanded his collection to include ready-to-wear pieces that can be coordinated with jeans, basic suiting pieces and other casual pieces of clothing. He has also designed a large collection of accessories, which include ruffled and studded handbags and shoes, including stretch-velvet boots, flannel high heels and strappy leather sandals. Trademark pieces that have made it down his runway include trompe l'oeil tuxedo shirts, glittered drainpipe jeans and mink-trimmed peacoats.
Location
Alexander Wang lives on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and has plans to open his first-ever boutique during summer 2011 in New York City.
