If you're looking to beautify your toenails before a beach vacation, wedding or any other event where your feet will be exposed, add sparkle to your pedicure. Enhancing your toenail polish with bling will give your feet a touch of glamour.
Glitter Nail Polish
The beauty of clear, glittery nail polish is that you can swipe it on over any other color nail polish. To get the look, paint your toenails your favorite nail polish shade, such as raspberry pink or cherry red, and let it dry. Apply one or two coats of clear glitter nail polish over the color for instant sparkle. You can find nail polish featuring any color glitter, from gold to silver.
Shimmering Nail Polish
If you're short on time before a big event, but want to give your toes a festive touch, paint them with shimmering nail polish. Use a nail polish color, such as red or blue, featuring a shimmering, iridescent finish. Shimmering gold, silver or pearl-colored nail polish is ideal if you're attending an elegant affair like a wedding reception. All it takes to achieve sparkling toenails is two coats of the nail polish.
Glitter
If you don't have any glitter nail polish on hand, you can make matte polish sparkle with a few sprinkles of craft glitter. To get the look, paint your toenails with your favorite nail polish shade. While the polish is still wet, sprinkle your nails with silver or gold glitter. Allow your toenails to dry, and then apply a coat of clear polish to seal and protect the glitter. For a creative look, apply the glitter to just the tips of a French pedicure.
Nail Crystals
Nail crystals will give your pedicure a posh, professional look. You can completely customize the pedicure by using the sparkling crystals to create designs, such as hearts or stars, on your toenails. Simply paint your nails with your preferred color and place the crystals onto the still-wet polish. Use tweezers to pick up the small crystals and deposit them onto your toenails to create your design of choice.
