Not every hairstyle can be done quickly, but that's OK because sometimes a fabulously stylish look is worth a little extra effort. If you're looking to whip your locks into an intricate 'do, learn a few hairstyles that take 10 steps. Make a little extra effort with your tresses and reap the rewards.

Twisted Updo

Add a fashionable twist to your locks with an intricate updo. Start by washing your hair. Then, towel dry and apply leave-in conditioner. Flip hair upside down and blow-dry it to create volume. Divide hair into three sections. You'll want to create a side part and then, part hair horizontally in half so you have two sections up top and one on bottom. Braid each top section back and away from the face pulling the hair upward as you braid. Now pull the bottom section of your hair into a high ponytail. Divide the ponytail into two sections, pull a each braid into each section and twist those sections into ropes. Keep twisting until each section has coiled against your head and pin each section into place with bobby pins. Spritz hair with hairspray to keep the look in place. Finish off by adding a sparkly hair clip to accent.

Voluminous Updo

Create lots of gorgeous curly volume with this 10-step 'do. Spritz two-inch sections of hair with volumizer. Curl hair in hot rollers, rolling hair horizontally and switching between medium and large-barrel rollers. Wait for curls to cool. Remove rollers from your hair. Create more volume by teasing the hair at the roots. Pull hair up to the center of the head. Next, twist it up and secure it in place with bobby pins. Mist with a bit of hairspray. Finish off by pulling a ribbon or tiny headband back to the crown of the head.

Full-Bodied Ponytail

Instead of sporting a basic, boring ponytail, take your look up a notch by adding lots of body. Start by washing and conditioning your hair. Then, blow-dry it straight. Create a deep side part. If you want to add a little something extra, curl hair with a large-barrel iron. Tease hair all over the head at the roots. Brush over the top layer of hair gently to smooth it. Sweep hair over at the forehead. Now, pull it back into a low ponytail, securing it with an elastic band. Take a section of hair and wrap it around your elastic band, pinning it under your band with a bobby pin. Add a little shine serum to your hair to finish off the look.

A Ponytail and a Pompadour

Another intricate ponytail style may take 10 steps but it's super simple to pull off. Start with freshly washed, towel dried hair. Blow-dry your hair with a round brush. Use a fine-toothed comb to tease hair at the crown of the head. Spray that section with hair spray. Pull hair into a ponytail, leaving the teased section free. Pull out a few wisps of hair at the front of the head. Pin the teased section of hair down at the crown of the head with a few bobby pins. Twist the tail end of the pinned down section. Pull it into your ponytail and secure it with an elastic band.
