While I am a graphic artist
by trade, you can find me on my horse every other minute of the day and night
(or so it seems, especially to my husband).
Long Distance Endurance Riding is my hobby
and is subsidized by my business of magazine layout and the occasional website
building.
In 2005 I left an 18-year freelance job with
Autograph Collector Magazine to add "author" to my list of
accomplishments, with a book titled American Endurance Rides: The Ultimate
Guide. I also produced a 2006 calendar of Scenes from the Endurance
Trail. You can check out my book at www.enduranceguide.com.
Since then, two other titles have been added
under my publishing hat. In October of 2006 a fabulous romp through the
endurance woods, by the hilarious Angie McGhee, titled The Lighter Side of
Endurance Riding, and in January 2007 Like Mother, Like Son, A Mom's
Guide to Raising Healthy Children, co-written by mother and son team
Blake Le Vine and Suzanne Wachtel.
I also found myself the owner of a stallion
in 2005. His name is CF Sorcerer, and he is the sire of Granite Chief+/, our
sport's 2004-2005 National Mileage Champion, and the Arabian Horse
Association's 2005 Distance Horse of the Year. You can read more about Sorce
and his Kids by visiting my "Links" page.
At the moment my "day job" consists of the
layout of the print magazine Sports Market Report published by
Collectors Universe. I am also the website administrator for www.johnnycash.com
and have been since it's inception in 1996.
